The results indicate that TrashSurolaras Bank was established on the community initiative management is mostly done by the householdwomen the potential availability of raw materials is large amount, can not be managed properly lack of public awareness of the benefits of cooking oil waste management and its dangers the waste banksexistence, socialization and understanding of the management contributing factors. The collecting data and information through observation, in-depth interviews and FGD of the trash banks management, community, culinary entrepreneur, PKK, Apsari and JPSM. This study uses a case study, Surolaras Trash Bank of Yogyakarta with a consideration of the waste cooking oilcollection. The method uses a sociological-economic and qualitative-descriptive. The purpose of this study is to analyze potential trash banks in the procurement of waste cooking oil as raw material for bio-diesel in terms of aspects: public participation the potential availability, included in the factors supporting and inhibiting the waste cooking oilavailability. Biodiesel is a renewable fuel alternative to using raw materials of oil vegetable or biological –one of them is waste cooking oil. The problems faced by Indonesia, recently, is a petroleumcrisis.
